Privacy Policy

PasallyGlance is a Chrome extension that sends content you choose to Anthropic's Claude API to generate answers. This policy explains exactly what is collected, what is not, and who processes it. It is written to be specific rather than reassuring.

The core principle

Nothing leaves your device until you tap an action. Selecting text or right-clicking only classifies context locally — no network request is made. The model is called only when you explicitly choose an action (Explain, Summarize, Verify, etc.).

Two modes, two data paths

Bring-your-own-key (Free and Pro): when you supply your own Anthropic API key, the content you act on is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic (api.anthropic.com). It does not pass through, and is never seen by, our servers. Your API key is stored only in your browser's local storage and is sent only to Anthropic.

Managed (Pro Managed, and free-trial asks): when we provide the Claude key, your request is relayed through our proxy server to Anthropic. We use this only to attach the key and count the request against your quota. We do not store, log, or retain the content of your prompts or the AI's answers. We record counts, the model used, and token totals for metering — not text.

Account data

If you sign in, we receive your email address and a Google account identifier (via Google Sign-In) to create your account and apply your plan. We store a request count for metering. We do not receive your Google password.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Payment details are handled by Paddle; we do not receive or store card numbers. We receive a subscription status to set your plan. See Paddle's privacy policy for their processing.

Local storage

Settings (your key, models, preferences, blocklist, plan, and session tokens) are stored using chrome.storage.local on your device. They are not synced to us.

Third parties

• Anthropic — processes the content you submit to generate answers.
• Google — sign-in only (email + account id).
• Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record.
• Cloudflare — hosts our proxy and this site.

What we never do

• We never store the content of your prompts or answers, in either mode.
• We never sell your data.
• We never run the model on your content without an explicit tap.

Your choices

You can disable the extension on any site, remove your API key, sign out, or uninstall at any time. To delete your account and associated metering records, contact us at the address below.
